Nimbio Labs
Software Engineer 2 - Las Vegas, NV (remote)
January 2023 - February 2024
Nimbio Labs is a startup that builds hardware as well as a platform for the property access and
home security industry. I was
hired to both build and maintain the front-end platform as well as work with parters to
integrate their hardware with our software using custom APIs. This had me working alongside
teams of other companies to accomplish the tasks. While we all did a little of everything, I was
primarily responsible for updating and
maintaining the front-end web platform and assist with maintaining the mobile app for Android
and iOS.
Another project I built at Nimbio was a stand-alone project for UPS devices
that is still being used in the field today. The app allows UPS drivers in Manhattan to open up
doors to communities to drop off the packages. The app has an auto feature that allows the door
to open w out interaction when the device is within range of the door. The devices themselves
were custom launchers
built on top of Android w special hardware.
Unfortunately, a USPS deal mishap caused the company to press the reset button, forcing the
company to layoff virtually every employee including the CEO. Under the wing of the CTO and the
network/security engineer, everything I learned while working for Nimbio is invaluable. Those
guys helped fill in the gaps of my knowledge and I am grateful to them and the company for it.
Full Stack Developer
Contract work/self employed - Seattle, WA
December 2018 - December 2022
For over 3 years, I had been building a variety of full-stack applications including:
web
sites, React and React-Native applications, Google Cloud Services projects, mobile first
websites,
web
scraper tools, productivity and educational apps, implementing various APIs, amongst many
others.
I consider myself predominantly a React and Django developer particularly heavy on the
front-end. While I can hold my own on the server side, I have much more experience with UI
tools, libraries, and APIs.
Mobile Developer
Contract/self employed - Seattle, WA
October 2013 - Present
I've worked as a freelance mobile developer on and off again since Android was in diapers. I remeber
making an app when 2.3 was the latest target. I started iOS in 2017, also on again off
again. I also build apps for my own
home projects and
profit. Nowadays, thanks to the ability to bridge React with native code using native modules,
my
mobile stack typically contains React Native on the client side with a shared Django, Flask, or
Node
server.
Manager & Educator
Caffe Ladro - Seattle, WA
December 2016 - January 2019
Caffe Ladro is a chain of caffes in Seattle. I ran the location near Seattle Center (the
Space
Needle). While all
of the stores ultimately communicated and collaborated, each store is set up to run
individually.
Being such, I ran every aspect of the store including: hiring, payroll, inventory, quarterly
profit/loss, amongst many other tasks.
During my tenure, the store kept a steady increase in sales despite half a dozen new coffee
shops
opening up in the area all during the renovation of Climate Pledge Arena, during which many
businesses in the neighborhood went under. My store also saw an overall 24% increase in
profit due
to my organization of product, minimizing waste, and efficient labor scheduling done using
custom
software I personally wrote.
Mechanic
Sears Auto Center - Tacoma, WA
January 2005 - January 2008
Working as a mechanic, I learned the fundamentals of Automotive Technology which was the
starting point of
my road to engineering and helped me a great deal while acting as a project
manager in the
robotics club in college. It gave me knowledge and hands on experience with electrical
systems,
reading schematics, and an understanding of general mechanics.

My site for clients to look at and see what I can do in greater detail. Essentially, it's a
portfolio site written in vanilla javascript, html, and css that showcases fundamental front-end

Disc To Digital
vududisctodigital.com
This is a standard app using logins and securty from various APIs. It fetches movie data from a SQL
database, parses to the UI in standard RESTful fashion, and uses Mongo to store user data objects. Also included is a mini app barcode
generator
which I custom built with javascript and css.

CramIQ
CramIQ is a series of educational, study, and flashcard apps. It uses MUI for React styles and
Paper for React Native. CramIQ utilizes the Google Cloud's Text To Speech
API and are built for Web, Android and iOS.

BeccaTaberArt

On the UI side, this is simply an artist website. The cool part of this, however, is the
companion
app that talks to my server to CRUD the photos in Google Cloud buckets. The site grabs from
these buckets to update in real time.

Deal Dekko
dealdekko.com
This was one of my earlier projects; an experiment with affiliate marketing. The highlight
of this
project is it has worker code that scans the internet once an hour for coupons and deals and
puts
them on a sql database which the site fetches from.
Note: The site is currently parked. The worker code is still running but the maintainability on
this project was naive so this project is changing strategy.
